Change for Citizenship, of 1 Citizen at a Time, raised funds for The Little Shop of Kindness via a tutor-a-thon, where donors committed to sponsoring their efforts by donating money for each hour of tutoring provided to future citizens. After the successful tutor-a-thon, Change For Citizenship donated the earnings directly to The Little Shop of Kindness. The shop affords asylum seekers and immigrants the chance to shop for clothes and everyday necessities for free. Chase met with the founder and director of the shop, Ilze Thielmann, along with one of her co-workers Ivan.
